Project types
Concrete for the building you are planning
A building slab has to do more than create a flat floor. Its thickness, base, reinforcement, edges and joints must fit the structure and the loads that will use it. We review the plans, site conditions and intended use before preparing the scope and estimate.
◆
Pole barn floors
Concrete floors for pole barns, equipment storage and multipurpose outbuildings, planned around doors, posts, drainage and vehicle use.
◆
Agricultural building slabs
Durable slabs for agricultural buildings and work areas, with the thickness and layout matched to equipment, storage and daily operations.
◆
Garage floors
New garage slabs and replacement floors with a properly prepared base, planned joints and a finish that is practical to clean and maintain.
◆
Shop floors
Concrete shop floors for workspaces, storage buildings and light commercial use, with load requirements and equipment placement reviewed before the pour.
◆
Building slabs
Slabs for additions, accessory buildings and commercial structures completed from the project scope, plans and site requirements.
◆
Thickened-edge slabs and footings
Integrated thickened edges and concrete footings where the design calls for additional support at walls, posts or structural load points.
01
Building use and loads
We need to know how the space will be used, what vehicles or equipment will be present and where concentrated loads may occur.
02
Plans and dimensions
We confirm the slab size, elevations, openings, edges, footings and other details shown in the project documents.
03
Site and soil conditions
Access, existing grade, drainage and soil conditions affect excavation, base preparation and the placement plan.
04
Base and reinforcement
The project requirements determine the compacted base, reinforcement and joint layout used to support the slab.
05
Utilities and penetrations
Plumbing, drains, conduit, sleeves and other penetrations must be located before the concrete is placed.
06
Finish and tolerances
The finished use of the building determines whether the floor needs a standard, smooth or other specified finish.
1 · Site review and scope
We review the location, access, plans and intended use, then prepare a written scope and estimate.
2 · Layout and preparation
The work area is laid out, excavated and graded. Forms and the compacted base are installed to the required dimensions and elevation.
3 · Reinforcement and details
Reinforcement, footings, thickened edges, penetrations and other project details are placed before the pour.
4 · Concrete placement
Concrete is placed, consolidated and brought to the planned elevation while the crew manages access and pour sequencing.
5 · Finishing and joints
The surface receives the specified finish, and joints are installed or cut in the planned locations.
6 · Curing and turnover
We explain curing, access restrictions and when the slab can be used for the next stage of construction or normal operations.

Our backyard in Leo Cedarville used to be unusable after rain because of drainage issues. Unique Concrete fixed the grading and installed a patio that finally solved the problem. It’s functional and looks great, which is a huge win for usPosted on Google![]()

I appreciated how upfront Unique Concrete was during the estimate. No vague pricing and you can tell they have years of experience. The driveway they installed came out level, solid, and looks like it’ll last a long time. You can tell they focus on doing things the right way the first timePosted on Google![]()

We had a specific vision for our backyard and weren’t sure it could actually be done with concrete, but Unique Concrete pulled it off. The layout, color variation, and stone designs all came together better than we imagined. It doesn’t look like a typical patio at all, which is exactly what we wantedPosted on Google![]()

Lauren and his crew did an amazing job on our patio. He made sure that the weather would be good the entire time they worked so that rain wouldn’t be a problem. Lauren then reviewed the design to make sure we were completely happy before he began construction. He also reviewed our color options and talked through different choices just to make sure we would be pleased with the results. This company went above and beyond what they needed to do to make sure the job was done well. I would highly recommend them for any concrete job.Posted on Google![]()

Great, fast work. They poured the floor of a 30x40' building, a drive in front of it, and a drive along the side of it all in one day. All of it looks great! I highly recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

What types of building slabs do you install?
+
+
We install pole barn floors, agricultural building slabs, garage floors, shop floors, commercial slabs, thickened-edge slabs and related footings. We review the building type and project requirements before confirming the scope.
Can you work from building plans?
+
+
Yes. Send the available plans, dimensions and specifications with the estimate request. We will review them with the site conditions and clarify any details needed before pricing the work.
How thick should the slab be?
+
+
Thickness depends on the building design, soil conditions, reinforcement and the loads the floor will carry. We do not use one thickness for every project; the scope should follow the project requirements.
Do you install footings and thickened edges?
+
+
Yes, when the project calls for them. Footing dimensions, reinforcement and connection details should match the plans or other approved project requirements.
Can you replace an existing garage or shop floor?
+
+
Yes. We can evaluate removal and replacement, including the existing base, drainage and access. The estimate will identify demolition, disposal and preparation required before the new slab is placed.
When can the building or equipment go on the slab?
+
+
That depends on the concrete mix, slab design, weather and the loads being added. We provide project-specific curing and use guidance after placement.
