Project types
A pool surround designed around the whole yard
The pool is only one part of the space. The deck should connect the house, gates, equipment, seating and other outdoor areas while keeping water moving away from the pool and structures. We plan those relationships before the concrete is formed.
◆
New pool decks
Concrete surrounds coordinated with the pool layout, coping, equipment access and the areas used for seating and entertaining.
◆
Replacement pool decks
Removal and replacement of deteriorated or outdated concrete, with the existing base, drainage and connections reviewed before the new pour.
◆
Concrete coping
Custom concrete edges that finish the transition between the pool and deck and coordinate with the selected surface.
◆
Pool walkways
Concrete routes connecting the pool area to the house, gate, patio, outdoor kitchen or other parts of the yard.
◆
Outdoor entertaining areas
Additional deck space for lounge chairs, dining, shade structures and gathering areas around the pool.
◆
Connected patio work
Pool decks planned with nearby patios, fire-pit areas, steps and retaining walls for one coordinated outdoor layout.
01
Traction
The finish should provide grip when wet. We can use textured finishes and non-slip additives where appropriate for the selected surface.
02
Drainage
The deck is graded so water moves away from the pool, house and other structures without collecting in walking areas.
03
Comfort and movement
The layout allows room to walk, sit and use pool equipment without creating tight or awkward spaces.
04
Coping and edges
The transition at the pool is planned with the deck so the edge detail, elevations and finish work together.
05
Joints and movement
Joint placement is planned around the pool shape and deck layout to help manage normal concrete movement.
06
Connections
Doors, gates, steps, patios, landscaping and equipment pads are considered as part of the complete pool area.
Finishes
Pool deck finish options
01
Broom finish
A clean, practical surface with texture for traction and a straightforward appearance.
02
Textured concrete
A surface selected to add grip and visual texture around wet areas.
03
Stamped concrete
Patterns that create the appearance of stone, slate, brick or other materials around the pool.
04
Colored concrete
Color options that coordinate the deck with the home, coping, landscaping and other outdoor concrete.
05
Exposed aggregate
A natural stone texture that works well on pool surrounds and connected walkways.
06
Decorative borders
Contrasting bands that define the pool edge or frame seating and walking areas.
1 · Site and plan review
We review the pool layout, access, elevations, coping, equipment, drainage and the way the deck connects to the rest of the yard.
2 · Layout and finish selection
The deck shape, walking areas, seating space and finish options are confirmed for the written scope and estimate.
3 · Removal and preparation
Existing concrete is removed where required. The work area is excavated, graded and prepared with a compacted base.
4 · Forming and details
Forms establish the pool shape, deck edges, coping, steps and connected walkways. Reinforcement and joints are prepared for placement.
5 · Placement and finishing
Concrete is placed and finished with the selected texture, color, pattern or exposed aggregate treatment.
6 · Sealing and care
Decorative surfaces are sealed where appropriate, and we provide curing, use and maintenance guidance for the finished pool area.

Our backyard in Leo Cedarville used to be unusable after rain because of drainage issues. Unique Concrete fixed the grading and installed a patio that finally solved the problem. It’s functional and looks great, which is a huge win for usPosted on Google![]()

I appreciated how upfront Unique Concrete was during the estimate. No vague pricing and you can tell they have years of experience. The driveway they installed came out level, solid, and looks like it’ll last a long time. You can tell they focus on doing things the right way the first timePosted on Google![]()

We had a specific vision for our backyard and weren’t sure it could actually be done with concrete, but Unique Concrete pulled it off. The layout, color variation, and stone designs all came together better than we imagined. It doesn’t look like a typical patio at all, which is exactly what we wantedPosted on Google![]()

Lauren and his crew did an amazing job on our patio. He made sure that the weather would be good the entire time they worked so that rain wouldn’t be a problem. Lauren then reviewed the design to make sure we were completely happy before he began construction. He also reviewed our color options and talked through different choices just to make sure we would be pleased with the results. This company went above and beyond what they needed to do to make sure the job was done well. I would highly recommend them for any concrete job.Posted on Google![]()
